Reykjavík · Capital region
Reykjavík Domestic Airport.
The city airport serves domestic connections and is much closer to downtown than KEF. Confirm your airline’s terminal before arranging pickup.
Getting on the road
- Scheduled Strætó public transport serves the airport; check the exact stop near your terminal.
- A local taxi is practical for a short hotel journey. Confirm the tariff and bag capacity.
- The airport operator describes about a 30-minute walk downtown. Weather and heavy bags may make a ride preferable.
Connections need their own plan
KEF is a separate airport about 50 km away. Normal road driving takes about 45–60 minutes. Icelandair separately recommends a passenger transfer allowance of roughly 60 minutes by car/taxi or 90 minutes by bus. Baggage collection/re-check, check-in, security and extra connection margin are additional.
Rental cars & private rides
Use the airport or provider’s published collection details. Confirm vehicle size, luggage space, arrival time and opening hours. For a pre-booked ride, obtain a pickup confirmation; a planner result does not reserve a driver.
